Biographical Note

Floyd Raymond Nicholas Carter was born on April 27, 1892 in Frankfort, Indiana to Marion A. and Lenore Belle (Douglas) Carter. He attended Indiana University for and the Indiana University Medical School. Dr. Carter enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1917. He married Josephine Decker on November 3, 1926. He was a staff member of three South Bend hospitals: Memorial Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dr. Carter was a member of the St. Joseph County Medical Society, the Indiana State Medical Association, and the Indiana Public Health Association. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. F. R. N. Carter died on November 15, 1992 in South Bend, Indiana at the age of 100.
