Biographical Note

Vera Mae Ginder Moudy was born on July 22, 1907 in Toledo Ohio to Oliver and Ora May (Ash) Ginder. She attended public schools in Weston and Bowling Green Ohio. Vera was a 1930 graduate of Bowling Green State University as well as a 1932 graduate of Northwestern University. After college she taught hisotry and mathmatics in the Ohio Public Schools. She married to Ret. Col. Alfred LeRoy Moudy on June 29, 1947.In 1957 she became the bookkeeper of the Department of Indiana, American Legion Auxiliaryand in 1966 became the Executive Secretary for that organization. She published multiple books including, History of the New York Street United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, Indiana, with biographical and genealogical data (1976), Ginder families in the United States (1977), and Research sources of German-born persons in Indiana (1983). She died on February 23, 1999 and is buried in the Butler, Indiana Cemetery.
