Scope and Contents

This collection includes letters and publications collected by Eva Doty relating to the genealogy of various families. The family history files are for the names of: Peter Anthony and Mary Jane (Meeks) and Grace Mitchell Collins. The Collins material includes family tree charts. There are twelve folders dedicated to "Chambers Helping Chambers," a genealogy periodical published by Claudette Maerz of Bloomington, Indiana from 1981-1992.

Also included are Mitchell family files, including Abraham, David, Homer, and John Russell. Other miscellaneous family files are for the names of: Dodd and Barnhill; Francis; Henderson of Tennessee; Mathers (Howard, Harry, and Marilyn); William C. McCullough; Oliphant; Nesbit; Rauch; and Wesley Whitson.

The 1986, 1987, and 1988 calendars from the Red River Historical Society of Clay City, Kentucky, showing historic pictures, are in one folder. The newspaper column "Indiana Ancestors" by Betty McCay, from 1973 to 1975, are in another folder.

Biographical Note

Eva Emery married Roy Doty. In 1993, she lived in Nashville, Indiana. Much of the material came from Grace Mitchell Collins.
