This collection includes genealogical research from Edna Joseph ranging from 1929 to 1969. Some of the research in the collection may be attributed to William Wade Hinshaw. After Ms. Joseph died Willard Heiss received her research, he deposited some of it at Guilford College in North Carolina.

Biographical Note
Edna Harvey was born August 29, 1890 in Markle, Indiana to Mr and Mrs J. E. Harvey. She was married Allen F. Joseph on July 30, 1927. Edna Joseph attended DePauw University and later taught in the Indianapolis, Markle, Lafayette and Jasper school systems. In her later years Ms. Joseph was well known for her genealogical research. She was a member of the D.A.R., as well as the Indiana Society of Pioneers. She was the cousin of William Wade Hinshaw, the famous Quaker genealogist and historian. She died September 5, 1973.
