Biographical / Historical
Lewis D. Stubbs was born on July 14, 1833 in West Elkton, Ohio to Jesse and Mary Jones Stubbs. He married Emily A. Mendenhall in Preble County Ohio on October 2, 1857.They had two children Ada L. Bernhardt and Edna S. Cathell. Lewis was an attorney, judge, and mayor in Richmond, Indiana. He died on July 8, 1902 in Richmond.
