Biographical Note
John J. McCartney was born in November of 1836 in Indiana. He married twice first to Xantippy Wilson on October 20, 1857, and later to Samantha Rowland on September 15, 1874. He had eight children Lillie Gudgel, Maggie Cooprider, Dora Blocher, John B. McCartney, Blanche Owens, Gertrude Redman, Ethel McCartney, and Glenn Budd. He died on September 27, 1911.
John B McCartney was born January 6, 1871, to John J. and Xantippy Wilson McCartney. He married Oberia Boyd in Scott County, Indiana on November 2, 1892. They had three children Myrl, Emily Marie, and Madge. John died August 1, 1952 in Deputy, Indiana.
