This collection contains a copy of George Monroe's reminiscence of his school in Noble Township, Shelby County, Indiana circa 1840s. The bulk of his description is about the school building, but he also mentions marking the time of day by the position of the sun and the privilege of being selected to retrieve a bucket of water and giving each student a drink.
