Scope and Contents
This collection contains a photocopy of a notebook kept by Mr. Colton in the late 1870s and 1880s. In large part, it contains accounts of his journeys to and from the United States and England, complete with accurate accounting of time spent and miles traveled. In addition to the accounts, Mr. Colton took many notes on feats of engineering and sea exploration of the time. Of particular note, are sections on the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
