Scope and Contents
This collection includes a typewritten copy of a journal kept by Josiah Hurty from 1849 to 1864 and transcribed by his great-granddaughter Alice Austin Martin in 1998. The bulk of the journal ranges from January 1860 to September 1864 and consists of Hurty’s entries regarding his daily activities and travels.
