Scope and Contents
The collection is a printed 4-page schedule of lands offered for sale at auction by the Boston and Indiana Land Company, dated August 14, 1843. The schedule pages are sewn together and list by county the company’s properties which were being sold in seven counties of Indiana and three counties of Illinois. The date of patent, number of patent, section, township, range, and number of acres are given for each property. The place of the auction and conditions of sale are also provided.

Biographical Note
In 1843, the Boston and Indiana Land Company, based in Boston, auctioned off the whole of its property. The trustees held land in Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson, Pike, Daviess, Greene, and Clay counties of Indiana and in Macon, Clarke, and Coles counties of Illinois.
