This collection comprises a photograph album from Rodney R. Nash, general manager of Eli Lilly and Company, (Taiwan), Inc. with images from a reception at the Governor's Mansion in Indianapolis Indiana on October 24, 1985, with an enclosed letter dated December 5, 1985 from Indiana Governor Robert D. Orr to Nash, thanking him for the album.

Biographical Note
Robert D. Orr was governor of Indiana from January 13, 1981 to January 9, 1989. He fought in the Pacific Theater during World War II and held several political positions both in his hometown of Evansville, Indiana and in the state until his election to the governorship in 1980. He was known as a businessman and industrialist and saw the strongest economic recovery for the state of Indiana in over forty years during his terms as governor.

Administrative History
Eli Lilly and Company, a pharmaceutical company, was founded in 1876 by Colonel Eli Lilly. Originally focused on serving Indianapolis, Indiana, the company eventually grew, and in 2018, has a global presence and maintains six major research and development facilities in six different countries and has manufacturing plants in thirteen different countries. The Taiwanese branch was founded in 1966 as Lilly Taiwan and focuses its efforts on improving the lives and health of the people of Taiwan.
