Administrative History

Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, was founded in 1912 by Henrietta Szold in response to anti-Semitism in the United States and Europe as well as the need for medical care in Palestine. Over the years, Hadassah has been responsible for the creation of hospitals, schools, and youth-oriented programs in Israel and has become the largest Jewish organization in America. This collection pertains to the Indianapolis chapter of Hadassah which, as of May 21, 2014, is still an active Hadassah chapter.
