This collection includes 79 letters from Carness Elmer Owen and Ruth L. Mundy, his future wife, in Indiana ranging from 1920 to 1922 regarding their budding courtship andthe buildup for them to be married. The first 2 folders comprise Mundy's letters to Owen and the third are the replies from Owen to Mundy.

Biographical Note
Carness Elmer Owen was born on July 2, 1896 in Orange County, Indiana. Ruth L. Mundy was born on January 13, 1899 in Hamilton County, Indiana. The two would write and communicate for two years before they would get married on January 18th, 1922. Owen himself grew up on his father's farm in Adams Township, Hamilton Country, Indiana, which he would work on his whole life until he would take it over himself in his father's advanced age. The only time he left it was to serve the United States during World War I.
