Administrative History
The Indiana Extension Homemakers Association in Lawrence County, Indiana was a program sponsored by Purdue University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This program urged "others to participate in home economics activities such as clothing your family, good nutrition, family relations, home management of time, energy, and money and youth work" (Extension Homemakers Association 1980-1981, 1). It was founded in 1913 and it "continues to build on its rich heritage by working to strengthen Indiana homes and families" (IEHA, 2012). Verna Armstrong, born in 1894, was an active member. She passed away in 1987.
