Historical Note
The Crosstown Merchants Association was a collection of business owners, tradespeople, and services in Indianapolis, Indiana, which would come together annually to throw a street fair to raise awareness for local businesses and funds which would be donated to local charities. Running from at least 1949 to 1957, the fair brought in thousands of dollars in charitable donations for Indianapolis with most of the money being donated to the local branch of Riley Children’s Hospital. The businesses involved were small local businesses rather than large corporations.
