Scope and Contents
This collection contains 2 Indiana University basketball trading cards printed by Bill Allee Enterprises of Noblesville, Indiana in 1986. The first card highlights Kent Benson, a member of the university team from 1973 to 1977 and the second card highlights Dan Dakich, a member of the team from 1981 to 1985. Each card has a picture of the athlete on one side and biographical information and game statistics on the reverse side.
This collection also has two undated business size cards about the Indiana Memorial Union. Each card has a picture of the Union building on the front and on the reverse side has information regarding the hours of service in the different dining areas and notes activites - bowling, billiards, table tennis, Hi-Fi, crafts, educations exhibits, lake sports at Beechwood Heights - available to students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university.

Historical Note
Indiana University is located in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana and was founded in 1820 as State Seminary. In 1828, the state legislature passed an act changing the name to Indiana College. Another legislative act was adopted in 1838 that awarded the school university status and the name was changed to Indiana University. The men's basketball team has won multiple National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championships since the team was first organized in 1901.
