Historical Note

New Richmond is located in Coal Creek Township, in Montgomery County, Indiana, just north of Crawfordsville. According to the 2010 census, the population was 333. The town was originally platted by Samuel Kincaid in 1836. The town gained notoriety in 1985, as the movie Hoosiers filmed the fictious town Hickory on location.
