Historical Note
4-H began over 100 years ago and has since become America's largest youth development organization. 4-H prepares young people to be leaders in their communities and teaches them lifelong skills through hands-on projects in areas such as health, science, agriculture and civic engagement. In Indiana, 4-H is delivered by Purdue University Extension to all 92 counties and participating youth receive guidance from adult volunteers through community clubs, afterschool programs, school enrichment, camps/workshops, and other special programs.
