This collection includes programs, pamphlets, photographs, poetry, and epherma from Heidi Eads Jones in Indianapolis, Indiana and the United States ranging from 1963 to 2000, regarding ballet performances, largely from the Jordan College of Music at Butler University and other places in Indianapolis, and dancers like Jeanette Vondersaar, as well as her acquaintances and family. There is also an abstract of title regarding a property in Lincoln Park in Indianapolis (1887-1939).

Biographical Note

Heidi Christine Eads was born on December 16, 1955 to Donald W. and Luitgard S. (Atz) Eads in Indiana. She attended St. Richard's Episcopal School in Indianapolis and started ballet lessons in elementary school. THe Eads family moved to Martinsville when Heidi was in 7th grade and she attended ballet lessons at the Jordan College Academy of Dance at Butler University in Indianapolis and Indiana University in Bloomington several days a week. She attended Martinsville High School until she was 16 years old. When Eads was 15 years old, she auditioned for the Stuttgart Ballet and was accepted into their school in Germany. There she spent two years earning a high school equivalence certificate while training in her art. During the summers, she danced in Butler Summer Ballet programs at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. By age 19, Eads was a member of the Hamburg State Opera ballet company, touring Europe. She joined a ballet company in Frankfort, Germany in 1978, while sometimes returning as a guest performer with the Indianapolis Ballet Theatre during the off-seasons. By 1989, Eads had returned to Indianapolis and joined the faculty at the Jordan College Academy of Dance. She married Bruce G. Jones on July 7, 1990 in Bloomington, Indiana and they had a son, Donald M.
