Scope and Contents
This collection contains the constitution and bylaws, yearbooks, programs, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings, meeting minutes, correspondence and other documents of the Inter Nos Club of Indianapolis ranging from 1894 to 2000. The yearbooks include lists of the club's officers and its members and information about the club's monthly programs. The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, photographs, and other mementos about the club and its members. The collection also contains program booklets from the 75th and 90th anniversaries of the club, and a copy of Elizabeth Miller's 1906 novel, Saul of Tarsus.

Historical Note
The Inter Nos Club of Indianapolis was started in 1894 and federated in 1911. The club's name means "between ourselves" in Latin and was a women's only organization. The club's objective was to promote intellectual and cultural studies and consisted of active, associate, corresponding, fifty-year, and honorary members. The club's official colors were lavender and pink and its mission was to be "a place where kindly thought is cherished; where high ideals are fed and nourished; where charity in all its beauty is said to be a sacred duty; and members meet on common ground."
