Biographical / Historical

The Gatling Gun Club in Indianapolis was established in 1910 by local Shriners, one who had been a member of the "Boys in Blue" Zouave team which performed in vaudeville shows at the turn of the century. The Club moved into the building at 707 North Illinois Street in 1919 after purchasing it from Knights of Columbus. The last performance of the drill team with Gatling guns occurred in June 1921. In 2009, with an aging membership and declining interest in fraternal organizations, the Gatling Gun Club concluded and sold its property in 2010.
