Historical Note
Normal schools, or teacher-training colleges, were created to equip high school graduates to become teachers during the late 19th and early 20th century. This normal school was in Clayton, Indiana, Hendricks County and was five weeks long beginning on July 26, 1875. The instructors were Ferdinand D. Tharp, Hattie E. M. Swope, and Temple H. Dunn in 1875.
