Scope and Contents
This collection includes six class notebooks, report cards, and a New Testament Bible from Georgia Eva Lockenour in Bedford, Mitchell, and Greencastle, Indiana, ranging from 1890 to 1972 and undated, regarding her education, primarily in music, at schools and DePauw University. There is also her mother's autograph book (1890-1905) and a musical composition for the Woodruff Place centennial in 1972.

Biographical Note
Georgia Eva Lockenour was born on October 1, 1898, to Alva (1868-1946) and Lyddia Florence (McTarsney) Lockenour (1871-1940) in Scottsburg, Indiana. She had one sister, Vallie Mae Lockenour (1903-1905). Lockenour attended DePauw University, where she studied music, graduating in 1920. She received a master's degree from Jordan School of Music in 1947. She moved to Indianapolis, remaining there for 53 years, and lived in Woodruff Place at the end of her life. Lockenour worked as a clerk for American States Life Insurance Company for 10 years, retiring in 1962. She was a member of Central Christian Church, the American Guild of Organists, and the Daughters of Union Civil War Veterans. Lockenour died on June 9, 1973, and was buried at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana.
