Administrative History
Guy and Dominic Montani were instrumental in forming the Indiana Musicians' Protective Association Local No. 3 of the American Federation of Musicians, the third musician's union formed in the United States.The organization was formed August 17, 1890 and the local charter was issued March 19, 1897. Guy Montani was also first violin in the first Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra formed in 1900 and remained with the orchestra for 32 years. Indiana Musicians Local No. 3 now represents the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and other musical ensembles.
