This collection includes a bound volume of the Indianapolis Sketching Club's original and revised consitution, membership roll calls and meeting minutes ranging from 1893-1900. Minutes were written by the following secreteries of the club: Selma Neubacher (Steele), Nellie Wells, Rhoda Selleck, Sarah B. Keehn, Edith Williams, Jessie E. Daggett, Sarah D. Mayo, Hettie Adams and Mary Elizabeth Snyder.

Historical Note
The Indianapolis Sketching Club was organized by Rhoda Selleck and developed to become a "sincere and helpful art effort of the city." The objective of the club was to gain mutual respect in the study of art and to promote the interest of art in Indianapolis. It was limited to 35 members and the dues were $2.00 per year. Artists met regularly in the homes of various members on Saturdays from fall to summer around 2:00pm.
