Biographical Note

Etta Dee (Mrs. Walter B.) Smith, who lived in 1945 on a rural route of Indianapolis, was active in supporting wartime activities beneficial to veterans -- namely, the USO, the Red Cross canteen, the Blood Donors' Association, and regular meetings of the Red Cross Chapter House. Throughout this period her son, Jim, was in the military.
