Historical Note
Union Christian College was founded as Merom Bluff Academy in 1853 by Rev. Evans W. Humphrey in Merom, Indiana. Meron was the original county seat of Sullivan County on the border of Indiana and Illinois.
In 1858, the school was renamed Union Christian College. Rev. Nicholas Summerbell was the first president. The College operated until 1924.
