Historical Note

Chester Parker was involved with the International Dairy Exposition Inc. when he was with the Indiana State Grange Board of Directors. In 1947, the Indiana Farm Bureau and the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce worked with representatives from the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, American Dairy Association of Indiana, and the Indiana State Dairy Association to form a committee with the "purpose of discussing the possibility of establishing a permanent home for a dairy show." The International Dairy Exposition Inc. was assembled as a show in the Octobers of 1949-1951 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds where they had multiple shows, like a senior show for judging in each of the classifications of seven dairy breeds, a show devoted to the 4-H Club and Future Farmers of America, industrial exhibits, educational or consumers' show, and entertainment programs.
