This collection includes a scrapbook containing letters, bookplates, and pictures sent by writers, poets, illustrators, and publishers to Flora Gardiner Kling from 1903 to 1916.

Biographical note

Flora Gardiner Kling was born in 1857. She lived in Mount Vernon, Posey County, Indiana, in 1900. She was 42 years old and her husband Henry was 38. Flora's mother Mary Gardiner, age 81, lived with them. In 1930, they lived at 812 Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon. Henry, age 69, was a clerk at Can City. Flora was 72 years old. In 1939, Flora and Henry lived in the Protestant Home for the Aged in Evansville, Indiana. She died on March 22, 1940 and is buried at the Locust Hill Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana.
