Biographical / Historical
David McClure Branham was born on January 3, 1860 at North Madison, Indiana to William Hickman and Livia Branham. He moved to Elizabethtown in Bartholomew County in 1879 and the following year began working as a clerk at the general store of Edward Springer & Son. On May 10, 1883, he married Nettie Springer, the daughter of daughter of Edward and Nancy Springer. He later took over as owner of the general store and continued to operate it until his death at the age of 71 on January 9, 1931.
