Biographical Note
William Vincent Check (Cheek) was born in Dearborn County, Indiana during 1796. He married Mary
Palmer Buffington on October 21, 1800. The couple had five children, Omer Tousey, Edmond Curtis,
Mary Ann, David Weaver, and John Francis (Lieutenant Colonel) Cheek.
