Biographical Note

Pearl Eller was born to Alonzo N. (1862-1942) and Emma (Applegate) Eller (1863-1938), both Hoosiers, on October 7, 1980 in Missouri. She had an older sister named Zula (1883-1909) and 2 brothers, Herbert Ray (1887-) and Dale Emery (1892-1990). In 1900, Eller lived with her mother, siblings, and aunt in Broad Ripple, Marion County, Indiana, while her father was a boarder and carpenter in Cedar County, Missouri. Her parents must have divorced because by 1910 her father was married to a woman named Alice G. and living in Kansas with her older brother, Herbert, while she lived with her mother, aunt, and brother Dale in Indiana. Eller attended college and became a school teacher in Indianapolis public schools, working as an educator for several decades. Eller died on November 12, 1984 in Carmel and was buried in Union Chapel Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
