Biographical Note
Christel E. Runner was born October 12, 1894 in Oxford, Benton County, Indiana to Morton E. and Flora E. (Wilson) Runner. She married Ross M. Halgren on September 8, 1917. Ross was born April 8, 1892 in Benton County to Mangus and Minerva (Ross) Halgren. Both were graduates of Oxford High School. Christel was also a graduate of Rockford College (Rockford, Illinois) and Ross was a graduate of Wabash College. The couple later moved to Indianapolis where Ross worked as an insurance agent for State Mutual Life Assurance Company. Ross died on October 19, 1969 and Christel died on February 10, 1980.
