Historical Note
Project Tonic was a proposed expressway that would run along areas of southern Indiana and Illinois. It was projected to provide relief to these areas by encouraging economic growth. The route was to run from Cape Girardeau, Missouri through Lawrence, Illinois and along southern Indiana to Cincinnati, Ohio.
