Biographical / Historical

Joseph K. Cooper was born in Putnam County, Indiana, where he worked as a farmer. He was first a private in the 133rd Indiana Regiment from May 6, 1864 to September 5, 1864 and was later in the 43rd Indiana Infantry Volunteers from October 25, 1864 to June 14, 1865.
