Biographical Note

Alonzo W. Weathers was born in Crawford County, Indiana in August 1847 and was engaged in farming before the war. He was drafted into the Union Army on 1 December 1864 as a Private. He was mustered out on Nov. 15, 1865 in Galveston, Texas as a Private. Weathers returned to Liberty, Indiana after the war and married Rebecca. They subsequently had three daughters and one son. Alonzo Weathers remained in Liberty, Indiana for the rest of his life and worked on his farm.
