Scope and Contents

The collection consists of three savings account books kept by customers of the Fletcher Savings and Trust Company, dating 1928 to 1933. The book once used by Billie Rose shows an initial entry of April 1928 and continues through Mauy of 1933. Two account books maintained by Charles Rose and Elmner Johnson both have initial dates of transactions in November of 1931.

Administrative History

Fletcher Savings and Trust Company succeeded the German-American and Marion Trust companies, becoming a reality on July 1, 1912. The new financial institution started business in Indianapolis with a total of $10 million in combined resources.
