This collection includes correspondence, cards, invitations, flyers, ephemera, photographs, and news clippings collected or created by Inez M. Scholl in and around Indiana and the United States ranging from 1932 to 1972, regarding the Democratic party in Indiana, the Democratic National Committee, elections and political activity in Indiana. Notable material includes campaign materials for President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Governor Paul V. McNutt, correspondence with Omer Stokes Jackson and Sherman Minton, and Democration National Convention tickets.

Biographical Note

Inez M. Scholl was born June 6, 1890. She was married to Emery Scholl and lived in Connersville, Fayette County. Scholl served as the Indiana delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1932, 1952, and 1956. She was also a member of the Democratic National Committee and served as its vice president. Scholl was a candidate for the 10th district U.S. Representative from Indiana in 1954. She died in 1982.
