This collection includes a typescript of Martha Elsie Pratt's journal from 1886 to 1887, edited and with addendum by her daughter, Helen H. Ellis. The supplemental material to the journal is photocopied. There are also fifteen family photographs.

Biographical Note
Martha Elsie Pratt (born circa 1867) was one of five children born to George Passage and Helen Mar (Fertugson) Pratt. She grew up in Connersville, Indiana and graduated from high school in 1886. Martha married Lewis Minor Ellis in May of 1890 and died on November 1, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois.
