Biographical Note
Amos Clark Wilkinson was born in Gibson County, Indiana, on December 18, 1826, to William and Mary M. (Miller) Williamson. He was a farmer in Indiana throughout the course of his life. Wilkinson married Maria Compton in Posey County, Indiana on March 28, 1847, but she died later that year. He later married Nancy Katherine Pruitt in Vanderburgh, Indiana in 1848 and they had ten children: Mariah Elizabeth, Levi Warner, John Williams, Mahala Ann, Trafton M., Aaron newton, Charles Fremont, Mary Emily, Susan Esther, and Laura Ellen. Wilkinson passed away on February 18, 1891, and was buried in Liberty Cemetery in Cynthiana, Posey County, Indiana.
