Scope and Contents
This collection includes correspondence from Rachel Bash and A.J. Van Der Sloot-Van Meesen in Indianapolis, Indiana and Hoevelaken, Holland ranging from 1933-1982 regarding World War II and social and economic conditions after the war. Also included is a brief history of Bash's Seed Store, which was operated in Indianapolis by members of the family from 1906-1975.

Biographical Note
Rachel Tobin Bash was born to William and Rose Tobin in Muncie, Indiana on May 17, 1908. Rachel married Jerome Keel Bash on November 4, 1933 in Marion County, Indiana. She was a social worker and an active member of several civic and service organizations in Indianapolis. These included the League of Women Voters, Red Cross, Indiana Council for Mental Health, and the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. She died in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 29, 1997 and is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery.
