Scope and Contents

This collection consists of letters and newspaper clippings from Robert B. Whitsett in Cass County, Indiana in 1971 sent to the Cass County Board of Tax Adjustment urging them not to support the Cass County Historical Society. The newspaper clippings about L'Anguille Valley Historical Association are glued to two poster board pages and there is a breakdown of funds targeted for the Historical Society from the Cass County General Fund.

Biographical Note

Robert B. Whitsett was born April 28, 1899 to Robert Burns and Anna C. (Ludders) Whitsett in Logansport, Cass County, Indiana. A Logansport historian and author, Whitsett served as chair and secretary of the L’Anguille Valley Memorial Association in Logansport. His books include "Pulaski County, Indiana Cemetery Records" (1942-1947), and "Legend of Cedar Isle" (1936). Whitsett died February 18, 1993.
