Historical Note

The State Bank of Indiana was established by the Indiana General Assembly on January 28, 1834, under Governor Noah Noble. On February 12, 1848, Governor James Whitcomb commissioned George Henry as Director of the State Bank of Indiana, after Henry was elected to the position by the State Senate and House of Representatives.
