Biographical Note

Reverend Brazilllia Marven Blount was born in 1828 in Paint Township in Ohio, the eldest of 10 children. Blount’s father was also a preacher and decided that his son should follow in his footsteps. The family moved to Indiana in March of 1841 where they established a homestead and built a school house and established a parish for the local community. Blount grew up to become a teacher and a member of the clergy and married Mary Jane Patterson on February 25, 1850. She died two years later, leaving Blount with a one year old child.
