Biographical Note

Robert R. Engels was born on June 26, 1890 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to John and Margaret Engels. He married Edith Chipman on November 21, 1924. Engels was an attorney and worked as Deputy Counselor for Gary, Indiana and as a Deputy Prosecutor in Fulton County, Indiana. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League and was known as the "Grandad of Kankakee Wildlife". Engels passed away at the age of 89 on February 3, 1980.
