Administrative History
The Emrich Furniture Company was a bedroom and dining room furniture company operating out of Indianapolis, Indiana, starting in 1881. Their first location was 324 West Morris Street, and the company was founded by Henry Emrich and Otto Paulini who would sell to furniture dealers in Indiana and the surrounding states for consumer purchasing. Eventually the firm would start selling its own goods and continued to operate under the Emrich family until 1965 when it was sold to L. D. Foster Sr., who had owned and operated furniture stores in the area for many years prior. It would continue to operate until 1997 when it was finally shut down after 116 years in business.
