Biographical / Historical

Albert Woolson was born in Watertown, New York on February 11, 1847 and served in the 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery as a drummer boy. He mustered in at St. Paul on October 10, 1864 and out on September 27, 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee. He died on August 2, 1956 as the last Union Civil War soldier.
