Biographical Note

Joseph Andres, Jr. was apprenticed to John Small for a term of seven years, beginning on Nov. 9, 1795, which he completed successfully in May 1802. The indenture lists the terms of the agreement under which Andres was allowed to apprentice himself to Small and was only able to do so with the consent of his father.
