Historical Note
The Concord Baptist Church was organized on October 29, 1838, located in Brown Township, Hancock County, Indiana. The church meetings was held in members houses and school houses until 1855 when the first structure was built. Noted early members were Stephen Harlan and wife; Morgan McQuery; Jacob Parkhurst; William Sparks; Jane Wilkinson; Hiram Harlan and wife; Charity Wilson; Jane Ross; Daniel Cunningham; John F. Johnson; Thomas Smith; John Sparks; J. F. Collier; S. D. Harlan; T. S. Lyons; Cicero Wilkinson; William Wright; and Jacob B. Hamilton.
