Biographical Note

Samuel McHenry Strader was born on October 10, 1811 in Warren County, New Jersey to John and Frances Strader. He worked as a steamboat captain out of Cincinnati for several years before moving to Madison, Indiana. He was involved in several different business pursuits in Madison, including as a commission and forwarding merchant with his firm Strader and Keyt. He died on June 14, 1872.
